Ever feel like this? A lost purple flower in a field of yellow? Purple people typically are quite unique. Though we tend to stand out in a crowd, we often feel like nobody understands us, especially when we are young. Ever feel like you were so different from your family or friends that you felt nobody could quite relate to you? I did. When all my classmates were talking about David Cassity’s hair, making their jeans look worn or worrying about having the right Sassoon label (Oh no! I just dated myself!), I was thinking about writing poems and singing a not so popular song.
It’s funny how, as a kid, your peers notice your differences and that is what sets you apart and isolates you, but when you become an adult, those same oddities become a uniqueness your friends treasure that draw you closer.
