Purple News

There are several things in the news lately that are purple related.  I’ll post just a few today that I thought were either interesting or important.

First, this article, is about a woman, Susan Powell, a Utah mother of two who has been missing since December 7th. The article states:

“James Hofheins, one of the organizers, says the three-day effort beginning Monday will use Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to [share] information about Powell and her picture throughout the Internet.  He says there will also be a purple ribbon campaign and Facebook users are being asked to change their profile pictures to a purple ribbon.”

I cannot find a link with a picture of this woman but if you can find one, let me know.  I will post it so that if anyone has seen her, they can notify the police.  I’m in prayer for her and her family.

In other purple news of a much happier note, there is a new production of Harold and the Purple Crayon. According to this internet article, if you are in the Grand Rapids area:

“Harold is coming to Grand Rapids, along with his famous purple crayon, when the Reif Center presents Enchantment Theatre’s newest national touring production, ‘The Adventures of Harold and the Purple Crayon,’ on Friday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m.

Based on the seven beloved picture books by author Crockett Johnson, the show follows the zany adventures of an inventive young boy. Resourceful and brave, Harold creates the world he wants to explore, using nothing more than his crayon and his sky’s-the-limit imagination. Audiences will be taken on a wild ride as Harold jets to the Red Planet (Martians, space ships), joins a circus (he tames a lion!) and meets a princess in an enchanted garden (there’s a dragon!).”

Have a GRAPE Day!
