I found this recipe for Jello Poke Cake on Kraft.com, but I did some substitution. Here’s what the recipe said:
What You Need
Make It
PREPARE cake batter and bake as directed on package for 13×9-inch pan. Cool cake in pan 15 min. Pierce cake with large fork at 1/2-inch intervals.
ADD boiling water to gelatin mix in small bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water; pour over cake. Refrigerate 3 hours.
FROST cake with COOL WHIP. Refrigerate 1 hour.
I substituted grape jello for strawberry and poured it into a bundt pan instead and didn’t top it at all. The problem I had was that the poking didn’t limit the jello entering just those areas. It seeped into the entire porous cake. BUT it tasted good and it looked nice and purple.
If you try it, please let me know how it turned out!
Have a Grape Day!
